These bite sized fritters are packed with sweet apples & fragrant spices, then coated in a maple glaze that crackles when you bite into it. If you're going to splurge on a fried (gasp!) donut, this should be the one! I love to serve them when they are still warm, with either a cold glass of milk or my favorite morning coffee blend!
Our most requested cupcake recipe might have just become our favorite donut recipe as well! The key ingredient is reduced coconut milk; ensuring lots of sweet, coconut flavor throughout the cakey, vanilla-speckled donut. There's also some of the milk reduction in the glaze for good measure. Finally, each little donut is crowned with sweetened coconut flakes.
Spring is in the air and berries are starting to make their way back onto grocery store shelves. Even though it's a bit early to make jams and jellies, or even cobblers or shortcake, I was chomping at the bit to incorporate some into a new recipe. These lemon donuts with fresh blackberry glaze were the perfect combination of flavors for a spring breakfast treat. Don't let the bright purple color fool you, there's no artificial dyes here. Just plump, juicy blackberries. Oh, and trust me... you'll want to use the reduction technique with every berry-flavored frosting or glaze from now on!
Right after the holidays we still had a bunch of eggnog left over so I thought the best way to use it would be to whip up a quick batch of baked Eggnog Donuts for New Year's morning! The kids were nuts for them saying "they taste like the Christmas cookies!" Starting off a new year surrounded by smiling faces makes me think a "Christmas Cookie" breakfast was pretty perfect.
"Donut Day" will forever be changed in our house, for the better, thanks to the decidedly necessary donut pan! These pumpkin spice donuts are great way to break in a new pan and kick off the autum season.
